As we do not take payments over the internet, all the information of payments by cash, cheque, card or BACS is on hard copy only.
This is retained in a locked cabinet in our office for up to 6 months, and then this information is manually destroyed. We retain it for up to 6 months because our customers may need to add to their original order, or return surplus goods to us for a refund for which we need original payment details.
As we do not create customer lists – except hard copy for regular trade customers – we do not have information available to sell or pass on to another organisation. We do not retain lists of retail customer for further mailing.
For TRADE CUSTOMERS who have an account with us, we only keep (on hard copy) their address and contact details but not card or bank payment details.
